Verified badges

A badge a person actually checked.

When a photographer's photo carries the seal, it means somebody at Get This Shot looked at their work and approved them by hand. Not a fee, not a form that approves itself.

One seal for each role we've approved.

A seal is approved per role. Somebody verified as a DJ doesn't get the photographer seal until their photography has been checked too.

What it is

Credit that shows up where the photos are.

A verified Pro gets a public page and their seal in three places. Nowhere else, and only for roles that were approved.

Pro · Photographer

On their photos

Every photo they add as a Pro carries their name and the seal for the role they worked, in any album it lands in.

The light at the end of the night was unreal. More coming tomorrow.

On their comments

The seal sits beside their name only on events they're attached to. Comment anywhere else and it's just their name.

On their profile

A page of their own with their best work, the events they choose to show, and a way to reach them.

How it's earned

Four steps, and one of them is a person.

  1. Register

    Tell us who you are

Sign in, pick a username for your page, and choose the roles you work. Photographer, DJ, venue, planner or photo booth, as many as fit.

  2. Show the work

    Send a link

Your website, your Instagram, a gallery. Something that shows the work you're asking to be verified for.

  3. A person checks

Every role is decided by hand

We look at your link and approve or decline each role on its own. Nothing is approved automatically, and every decision is logged with who made it and when.

  4. You hear back

    An email either way

Approved, and the seal is live on your page and your photos. Not yet, and the email says so, with a note when there's something to fix. You can ask again whenever you're ready.

For hosts

A badge is credit, not a key.

  • It opens nothing.Being verified gives a Pro no access to your event. They post into your album only after one of you invites the other and the other says yes.
  • You stay in charge. You can hide or delete any photo a Pro adds, or turn on review before anything shows. Remove them from the event and they stop posting.
  • Your album keeps the photos. What a Pro adds follows your event's rules: kept as long as your album is, in your full-size download, and never taken back if they leave.
  • It isn't a guest.Pro photos don't count toward your guest number and never land on the hunt board.

For guests

You can see who took the shot.

  • A real name on it.A verified photo says who took it, and the event's people list links to their page, so you know it came from somebody who worked the night.
  • The seal can't be bought. There's no plan, fee or upgrade that puts a seal on a photo. Only an approved role does.
  • Only where they worked. The seal shows on comments only at events the Pro is part of, so nobody borrows the badge at a party they weren't hired for.

Questions

Straight answers.

Does it cost anything?

No. Verification is free, and being a Pro isn't a plan.

How long does a decision take?

A person reviews every request, so it isn't instant. You'll get an email the moment your role is decided.

What if I'm not approved?

You'll get an email saying so, with a note when there's something to fix. Ask for the role again from your Pro page whenever you're ready.

Can I add a role later?

Yes. Ask for another role any time, and it's checked on its own like the first.

Does a badge let a Pro see my guests' photos?

A badge gives no access to anything. What a Pro can do at your event comes from you, never from the seal.

Where does my page live?

At getthisshot.com/pro/username. You choose the username when you register and can change it later.

Worked the event? Put your name on it.

Free to ask. Checked by a person.
